Shoreline Management Plan Approval

Barren River, Nolin River, and Rough River Lakes

The Shoreline Management Plan (Plan) for Barren River, Nolin River, and Rough River

Lakes has undergone a comprehensive review and update, including a public review

period that ended on September 30, 2010. All comments received during that review

period have been considered, and have been incorporated into the final plan where

appropriate.

In accordance with federal regulations controlling the Shoreline Management Plan

update process, a moratorium was placed on accepting applications for new licensed or

permitted facilities at these lakes. This moratorium will be lifted at 6:30 a.m. Central

Daylight Time on April 11, 2011. Eligible landowners may submit applications for all

facilities allowed under the 2011 Shoreline Management Plan after this date.

Applications will be processed on a first come, first served basis. The 2011 Plan is

available at www.bit.ly/lakesmp and hard copies can be obtained at the project offices.
